Samurai & Ninja Performance and Authentic Awa Odori at Meiji Kinenkan
In early June, we welcomed a family group visiting from the United States
who wished to experience Japanese culture and traditions.
At Meiji Kinenkan, we arranged a Samurai & Ninja performance
along with a lively Awa Odori dance show
by the renowned Tokyo-based team Shinsuiren from Otsuka.
Our guests thoroughly enjoyed this authentic showcase of Japanese heritage.

The Samurai & Ninja show began with a captivating lion dance
and an elegant traditional dance performed by women,
setting the tone for an unforgettable opening.
Guests enjoyed an authentic tate (samurai sword choreography) performance,
and during the show, they even had the opportunity to
hold replica swords and participate, making the experience truly engaging.
The Awa Odori performance began with the powerful sounds of the ohayashi ensemble,
and guests were amazed as they watched a variety of different dance styles unfold one after another.

As the saying goes, “Those who dance are fools, and those who watch are fools too,
” everyone was invited to join in the grand dance, allowing all guests to
fully enjoy the spirit of Awa Odori together.
Regarding Awa Odori performances, we may be able to accommodate weekday shows during later hours.
Please feel free to contact us for inquiries or to discuss your event.
