Celebrating the Grand Opening of a Taiwanese Firm’s New Office with a Traditional Southern Lion Dance!
n late October, we arranged a traditional Chinese Lion Dance performance
for the opening ceremony of a Taiwanese company’s new office
in the Minato Mirai district of Yokohama.
The performance was delivered by a talented troupe active primarily in Yokohama Chinatown,
adding a vibrant and celebratory touch to the event.
The performance featured the “Southern Lion” style, which is traditional to Taiwan.
This authentic touch was a special surprise for both the Taiwanese staff
nd the Japanese guests, and we are delighted to report that
it was received with great enthusiasm and joy by everyone in attendance.
While a traditional Lion Dance is typically accompanied by live drums, gongs, and cymbals,
we prioritized the office environment for this event.
To manage noise levels within the building,
we took the special step of pre-recording the live music on a separate day.
This allowed us to maintain the authentic atmosphere of the performance
while ensuring a professional and considerate setting.
By developing a specialized audio track,
we have overcome the common barrier of noise constraints.
We can now offer authentic Lion Dance performances in locations
where live percussion is restricted.
