TSUGARU – SHAMISEN

Tsugaru shamisen is a type of shamisen music that originated in the Tsugaru region of Japan. Originally used to accompany folk songs of the Tsugaru region, it is often referred to as “Tsugaru shamisen” in modern times, especially when referring to its performance. The Tsugaru shamisen is characterized by its percussion technique, in which the player strikes the plectrum with a plectrum, and by its fast tempo and large number of notes.
