Kyogen is a dialogue-based drama. It does not use any large-scale stage sets but expresses everything through words and gestures.
The main characteristic of Kyogen is laughter. Kyogen takes as its subject matter the daily lives of the common people of the Middle Ages and the tales of ordinary people,
and wittily captures the habits and essence of human nature, transforming them into broad-hearted laughter and humor. The stories are woven by various characters.
